Vyjayanthi Rao

Vyjayanthi V.Rao holds a Ph.D. in Socio-Cultural Anthropology from the University of Chicago. She is currently Assistant Professor for Anthropology at the New School for Social Research, New York. She is also Research Associate and former Co-Director(2003-05) for Partners for Urban Knowledge, Action, and Research (PUKAR), Mumbai. Her research and teaching interests include Cities and Globalization, Infrastructure and Urbanization, Territorial Sovereignty and Citizenship, Development and Forced Migration, Memory and Material Culture, and Anthropology and Contemporary Art.
